Thiyagarajan Govindasamy, fondly known as Raj, is a highly accomplished Human Resource strategist and transformation consultant with over three decades of leadership experience across Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region. His distinguished career is defined by a deep passion for linking people strategies with business growth and cultivating organizational cultures that foster engagement, innovation, and excellence.
Raj’s professional journey spans diverse industries including oil & gas, mining, electronics, ICT, banking, and financial services—serving in senior regional HR roles with multinational corporations across South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Australia, and New Zealand. His expertise in strategic HR transformation, organizational development, and leadership enablement has earned him recognition as one of Malaysia’s Most Talented HR Leaders (2019) by the World HR Congress and MIHRM.
As the Human Performance Specialise, Raj leads consulting initiatives in organization transformation, workforce integration, culture development, and AI-enabled talent management. He has successfully executed numerous large-scale transformation projects, including HR restructuring for oil and gas companies, the establishment of assessment centres for retail corporations, and organization setup for international market entries. His visionary leadership also extends to business and career coaching, having guided more than a hundred senior leaders and professionals.
Raj’s earlier career includes senior HR leadership roles at Weir Minerals, Danfoss Industries, Technip, Getronics, HSBC, and Motorola, where he led award-winning initiatives in change management, talent development, and engagement excellence. Among his notable achievements are spearheading the Global Hiring Manager Development Program (adopted as a group-wide standard), securing government grants for engineering capability development, and improving engagement scores from 76% to 82% through strategic culture initiatives.
